Sorry for very late notice, but tomorrow (Wednesday 24th) at 10am is a rally for Save Our Little Lake Valley at the Caltrans HQ, corner of East Hill and Baechtel Road . Come stand with your community to let Caltrans know that our opposition to the Bypass remains strong. A delegation of local citizens will present to Caltrans a list of urgent concerns regarding the Bypass. Support the delegation and join the press conference afterwards. A good turn-out is important!
Friday, April 26, 7pm, there is a showing of “Taken for a Ride” at the Grange.
Sunday, April 28will be a Grange pancake breakfast in the morning, and then from
1-4pm (also at the Grange) a forum on Wells, Wick Drains and Wetlands: How the Caltrans Bypass Would Affect Our Watershed. This will be a panel discussion moderated by Sheriff Tom Allman.
Learn more, join the discussion, and bring your questions. Everybody come - farmers, ranchers, businesses, citizens!
Next week (May 2-3) there will be a delegation going to Sacramento to urge the Governor to stop further funding of the Caltrans Bypass. For more info on other SOLLV events and the bypass, go to www.savelittlelakevalley.org.
Meanwhile (everything happens at once!), there is a Transition Training hosted by Transition Humboldt the weekend of April 26th – 28th. This participatory, 15-hour course describes how to catalyze, support and facilitate community transition and resilience with imaginative and inspiring ways to engage your community. The course runs from Friday, April 26th at 7pm through Sunday, April 28th at noon and covers a wide variety of topics relevant to organizing and growing Transition initiatives in local communities.
